 1. Shoes - Absolutely no cleats.  Bring a clean pair of non marking athletic shoes to change into for the game.
2. Wear all of the required protective equipment.  Refer to the list on the rules.
3. Teams can choose to have a single long pole on the floor, but they are not required to.
4. Speak with your captain regarding uniform colors.  Captains may choose to have a permanent color, but must notify me/the other captains so we are prepared.  Otherwise the home team will be light and the away team will be dark.
5. There will be 3 periods of 16 minutes per game.  There will be a 2 minute break between periods.  There is no OT during the regular season.
6. There will be six minutes of warm-up time before each game.  The goals will be set up during this time prior to the first game.  There will be four minutes following the second game to clean up and take down the goals.  There will be handshakes after each game.
7. Teams will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.
8. We will only have face offs at the beginning of each period.  After goals are scored, teams will start will possession behind their own goal.  Defending teams must remain on their half of the field until either: a pass is made, ten seconds passes, or the ball crosses the red line.
9. The following are minor penalties and can result in a 30 second penalty at the ref's discretion:

Holding an Opponent’s Stick, Hooking, Body Checking, Obscene or Profane Language or Gestures, Physical Abuse of Officials, Protection of the Goalie, Roughing, Slashing, Delaying the Game, Illegal Cross Checking, Holding
10. The following are major penalties and will result in a 1 minute penalty: Boarding, Butt-Ending, Charging, Checking From Behind, Clipping, Elbowing, Face Masking, Throwing the Stick
11. The following are ejection penalties; the player will be asked to leave for the evening: Fighting, Head-Butting, Leaving the Players Bench or Penalty Area, Attempt to Injure
12. Pressure pushes and stick checks are allowed, but this is a non contact league else wise, ie NO BOARDING, NO BODY CHECKS.
13. The game is 6v6; typically 5 floor players and 1 goalie, but goalies can be pulled.  There is no requirement to have a player stay back.  Substitutions can be made on the fly or during stoppages.
14. The back court violation rules is only in effect during the final two minutes of the period to prevent stalling.  Otherwise the ball and players can travel freely around the field.
